The wind whipped up, dry leaves took flight bombarding Penny and Collin as they hurried along the path that cut between Lake Tawney and their homes near the edge of town. A deer dashed out in front of them, startling Penny who stumbled and fell. Hitting the ground palms first, she groaned and sat upright, dusting off her gloves from the crumbled chunks of leaves embedded there. From the corner of her eye, she spotted something peeking through the leaves. Brushing away the leaves, she reached down and picked it up, turning it over in her hands.
