Grace frantically tried to move forward, but there were hands on her shoulder and at her elbow. Her aunt and cousin tried to lead her to a chair backed against the wall.
“No, I’m fine, let me go, I need to find someone.”
The hands were firm.
“Shh now Grace, you look very pale, you certainly don’t look fine. You’ve lost a lot of weight since we’ve seen you last. I think you should sit down and I’ll get you a drink of water.” Her aunt Maura said, her eyebrows meeting in the middle of her forehead in concern. Maura nodded to her daughter Jessica to sit with Grace as she disappeared out of the room to get the drink.
