A Gazillian Light Years Away by Mark Patterson (with Extra Challenge Included)

I know why I am here but I don’t know how or the reason I come to be standing on this plinth surrounded by weird green, slime objects. I’m a random marsupial, one in a gazillion, trillion affected by the fires, but here I stand with an enormous green ocean of faces doing what I can only describe as prostrating themselves before me.
