Silas and Toad by Michael Reyneke

Prompt: A New Life | Word Count: 1000 | Genre: Children’s Fantasy
“Mother, what will we play today?” moped five-year-old Silas.
“Today is not a play day, dear boy. I’ve too much unpacking to do, and so do you.”
“But I’ve unpacked and packed my boxed stuff away, so now I can play.”
“Silas, don’t be such a bore, there’s so much new to explore. Look, a new garden with a trimmed green lawn and winding path down to the stream in the woods. Investigate all that, you should.”
