Prompt: A conversation with my spouse | Word Count: 1200 words | Genre: Romance
It had been a long day. I trudged up the stairs to the gorgeous, existing old dwelling. When we started our search for our new home the old townhouse had exuded a dignified charm we couldn’t resist. But lately it seemed the foundation wasn’t as solid as I’ve thought. Or maybe I just projected the current state of my marriage.
The generous apartment had the perfect layout for our plans. A huge living room to relax after a long day at work, a quiet bedroom for long, romantic Sunday mornings, an updated bathroom that resembled an upscale spa with a bathtub that accommodated two easily and two spare rooms that would one day become a child’s room and the other would host a combined study/guest room. The kitchen was state of the art and the rent accordingly. But we were two up and coming marketing buffs. Money didn’t matter.
