He swirled his glass, the amber liquid climbing higher at the edges. Steadying his hand, the whisky settled among the translucent ice. Ezra had offered his guest libations upon her arrival. With all the propriety and politeness and etiquette he had ever seen anyone muster, she had declined. A wave of her hand displayed perfectly manicured nails and several rings. The movement shifted her outfit. It had been no surprise to Ezra that his guest abstained from drinking. Surely ingesting anything, even water, would change too much of how her dress clung to her curves.
